Welcome to the WWW Pregnancy Ring
To find out how to get the
information about pregnancy from Member pages, please read the
section below titled "How to use the Ring". To see all the sites
in the ring, go to the Pregnancy Ring List.
This is the WWW Pregnancy Ring. This WebRing was founded in July
1996 to make it easier for people interested in pregnancy, childbirth,
and infant care to find high quality informational
sites. We try to keep commercial sites off the ring, although
allowances can be made for useful information within commercial
sites. Due to demand, I have also created a WebRing for commercial
pregnancy sites - Go to the Services and
Products Ring page.
If your site is offering a service to pregnant women, even if it
is non-profit, then you belong on the Services and Products Ring!!
This Ring is NOT for sites showcasing their babies. If your site
does not offer some information for Pregnant Women and Their Partners,
then please do not waste my time or yours asking me to add it! If
all you have are baby pictures and maybe your birth story, sorry,
but the answer is no. If you have some complication you want to
get information out on, then the answer is probably yes - feel free
to ask.
If you keep clicking on the "Next Page" icon long enough, eventually
you will be back at the site you started from! If you are less
linear in your thought, you can also jump to a random site on the
ring...

How to use the Ring
To navigate from one site to the next in the Ring, simply click on
the Ring Logo Image that says "Next Page", or on the text that
says "next page". This way, you can jump from site to site within
the Ring. You can click on the link to a Random Site above, or
go back to the page you came here from and click "Next Page" from
there. This information and the email addresses on this page are
for people wishing to join the Ring. Please do not use them for
any other purpose. YOU CAN ONLY JOIN THE RING IF YOU HAVE A WEB PAGE!
How to edit your site information
If you are already part of The WWW Pregnancy Ring, and need to edit your
site's attributes (URL, your e-mail address, site description),
please go to
Edit Site Info.
How to join the ring
In order to maintain the integrity of the ring, there are certain
qualifications to be accepted into the Ring and for continued membership:
- The content of your site MUST be about pregnancy, childbirth,
or infant care. A site that has information about infertility would also
qualify. Due to the inflammatory nature of the circumcision argument, we
have decided not to surprise those cruising the ring with pages of a
militant nature. Circumcision pages which are more mellow and balanced
would be considered.
- Because of the primarily non-profit nature of this WebRing, sites
that are primarily selling products will not be added.
- Regardless of your topic, your site will not be accepted into this
WebRing if we do not feel it has sufficient content and value. This
includes pages that are simply indices of links on the topic. Every
person with a passion for this subject has something to say - your
page should be more than a list of links!
- Your site must display the Ring code on the first page of the
site or section accepted. We will cruise through the ring every once
in a while to see that all the pages are keeping the standard.
If you put your Ring code on a page other than the one you have
listed in the queue, then you will not be added. That means that if
you maintain a separate page of WebRings, you must enter that page
in the queue. In addition, if you enter your WebRings page in the
queue, then you MUST have a link to your main page displayed in an
obvious location on that page.
Note: The WWW Pregnancy Ring Administrator reserves the right to
refuse any submission for any reason.
Here are the steps you use to join The WWW Pregnancy Ring!
- Go to the
Queue Page and enter the information about your page. Note
that this does not insert you in the ring! We'll let you know either
way when we have checked out your site.
You will receive a ring ID number you need for the steps
below. You will also receive a code fragment to paste into your page.
- Save a copy of the two WWW Pregnancy Ring graphics you see
below. DO NOT reference them off someone else's server (including
ours!) unless you have asked them for permission first! The one
on the left is called
pregring.GIF and the one on the right is pregringnext.GIF.
In case you don't know, to get a copy of the graphics all you have to do
is click on the right mouse button and select "save this image"...
[Note: you are welcome to make your own graphics that fit
your site design but you can not change the name of the ring
or the links to the pages in the code below.]
Please add the graphics code ABOVE the code you are sent by email
and remove the extra "hr" tag...
- Add the HTML fragments sent to you by email to your page. The most common
place is as the last thing on your home page, but it is also
appropriate to place it more prominently if you so choose. [If you
cannot use graphics, disregard the part about saving the graphics and
adding the graphics code...]

- Change all instances of "youremailaddress" in the code fragment so
that it is your own. The graphics code fragment above should be
placed before the code fragment you are sent by email.
- Make sure all images point to your own site. The Pregnancy WebRing
link itself, however, should still point to
http://www.fensende.com/Users/swnymph/Ring.html.
[If you have any problems, e-mail
pring-help@fensende.com]
- Change the references to "youridnumber" as found in code with
"/cgi-bin/" in the line so that the id= is followed by your
Site ID number. For example, if your site ID is 25, the code
should look something like this:
http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=preg&id=25&next.
- After checking out your page, the Pregnancy Ring Administrator
will enter your site in the Ring if you qualify. You will automatically
be sent a message saying that you have been added to the Ring.
Please remember that you must have the code working on your page before
you can be added! If you are unsure of whether your site will qualify,
please re-read the rules above. I will not check before the code is
present.
- Please Save the
acceptance letter as it includes information you can use to edit
your site information. If you have not met the criteria for
acceptance, you will also receive an email telling you this. This
is NO reflection on the quality of your site. It just means your
site didn't meet the criteria for this Web Ring.
- That's it! You should now be able to navigate the entire ring until
you make it back to your own page, although it may take a while.
To refer another person to the Ring
Please refer others interested in the Ring to this page - they can then go
to the Queue page to submit their site information, but I would like them
to read this information first.
You can find information on other Web Rings at
WebRing Home Page.
